Epoxy Pavement Markings

The Benefits of Epoxy Striping

• Epoxy pavement markings utilize a double drop bead system that provides the highest possible level of reflectivity.
• At Safety Marking we apply a double drop system using two different size beads which increases “wet-night visibility”.
• For additional safety to the driving public, the striping line will be visible when it is needed the most, during inclement weather.
• Epoxy pavement markings have a “useful life” of 3-5 years. When we say “useful life” we mean the line is down and visible in all weather conditions for that time period.
• Epoxy lasts six to ten times longer than traditional paint striping.
• Using Epoxy will create savings in administrative and support cost associated with having to stripe the same roads every year.
• Using Epoxy will lessen the exposure to the traveling public of the hazards and inconvenience of yearly maintenance of your pavement markings.

Thermoplastic Pavement Markings

The Benefits of Thermoplastic

• When Thermoplastic is heated to 450 degrees it liquefies. When applied at this temperature it melts into the upper surface of the asphalt, forming a thermal bond. Thermoplastic is typically applied at 90 to 125 mills thick; it is very oil resistant and has superior bonding strength.
• Thermoplastic has glass beads mixed in with the product and at the time of application the glass beads remain on the top increasing reflectivity and safety.
• Thermoplastic has a “useful life” of 2-4 years
• Safety Marking Inc. has several 5,000 pound Kettle trucks, 8000 pound long line trucks and hand liners to service the North Eastern US.
